The British High Commission in Banjul, The Gambia now processes applications for UK Entry Clearance submitted in Sierra Leone.

Therefore, all visa enquiries (including those relating to appeals) must be directed to the Correspondence Section at the British High Commission in Banjul, The Gambia:

Please note that Visa Section in Banjul is currently experiencing technical problems with their telephone enquiry lines. As a result, visa applicants may find it difficult to contact them by telephone. Therefore, we recommend you email them to ensure that you receive a response to your enquiry. We are sorry for any inconvinience this may cause.

Please be aware that the British High Commission cannot provide guidance or advice in relation to immigration law (e.g. which category you should apply under or the supporting documents that you should provide). Please refer to the UK Border Agency website for further guidance. Otherwise, you may wish to seek the advice of an immigrant lawyer.

Our visa section now has new opening times: Monday-Thursday at 8:30am-12noon; and 1pm-4:30pm. We are closed on Firdays and on public holidays.

On-line appointment for UK Entry Clearance

All applicants wishing to submit applications for UK Entry Clearance must use our on-line appointments service. Since 6 October 2008, all applicants wishing to submit a new application are required to make an appointment on-line. Applicants will not be able to submit an application to us without an appointment.

Conakry and Monrovia Applications

There is no visa officer based in Conakry, Guinea, or Monrovia, Liberia.
 
Liberian citizens and all other visa nationals living in Liberia should apply for UK Entry Clearance at the British High Commission in Accra, Ghana.
 
Guinean citizens and other visa nationals living in Guinea should continue to make their applications for Entry Clearance at the British High Commission in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
 
All visa applications at the High Commission in Freetown must be made in person.
